The Trussell Trust
Crafting Live is delighted to be partnering with the Trussell Trust to help end hunger and poverty in the UK.
What does The Trussell Trust do?
The Trussell Trust support a nationwide network of food banks and together provide emergency food and support to people locked in poverty, and campaign for change to end the need for food banks in the UK.
In the UK, more than 14 million people are living in poverty – including 4.5 million children. The Trussell Trust supports more than 1,200 food bank centres in the UK to provide a minimum of three days’ nutritionally-balanced emergency food to people who have been referred in crisis, as well as support to help people resolve the crises they face. Between April 2017 and March 2018, food banks in the network provided more than 1.3 million emergency food supplies to people in crisis, a 13% increase on the previous year.

For me the idea that we can support the local communities where we host our Crafting Live events is so important. We crafters are all members of a crafting community where we come together to support one another and if we can help others in times of need that is immeasurable.
How can I support The Trussell Trust?
At each Crafting Live show there will be an area for you to donate food to your local food bank – see the local food bank’s website to see what is needed. There will be volunteers from the Trust available to answer any questions you may have and advise on how you can support your local food bank.
On Sunday afternoons we are giving you the chance to support your local food bank and come along to Crafting Live for free. Bring a food donation for the food bank and get in for free after 1pm on Sunday.
